My Vibrant croaked and I bought a Samsung Blaze (a speedy phone that's great in all respects except the dinky 1GB internal storage, but that's another review). I had an Otterbox Commuter for the Vibrant which was awesome in just about every way. Unfortunately Otterbox doesn't make a case for the Blaze. I purchased the Incipio Silicrylic hoping it would be a reasonable substitute for the Otterbox. It was less money and looked similar in design (silcone inner case with hard shell outer case). The Incipio doesn't come with a screen protector which Otterbox provided with the case. The Otterbox had a matte, slightly textured surface which felt secure in the hand, showed no fingerprints, and slid nicely into a pocket. The only minor complaint was the silicone edges tended to collect lint, but a quick wash once or twice a year...good as new.
Now for the Incipio. The hardshell has a shiny, smooth finish with a faux metallic look. Though slipperier than the Otter, it wasn't too bad. I don't care too much about appearance, and was willing to give it a go. Here's where things go wrong. The hard shell plastic was warped, probably because it is so thin. The shell bowed outward and could not "grab" the inner silicon case. At least one corner (usually two) would pop off immediately. Needless to say, this left the hard shell seperated from the phone and it snagged on everything (fingers, pocket, etc.). All4Cellular was great and sent a second case as a replacement. It has the same fatal flaw (though warped in a different place). The hard shell material is simply too thin or the forming process is flawed. Based on these two samples, I don't recommend the Incipio Silicrylic for the Blaze. If the same out shell material is used in all cases, I wouldn't recommend it for any phone. The Otterbox Commuter is a much better case in all respects. Despite it's higher price, it's the better value.
Although I struck out with the Incipio case, All4Cellular was very helpful in sending a replacement and is now offering credit toward anything on their site since the case isn't working. Much appreciated.
