I just opened my JAMBOX last night and have been using it nearly nonstop. When I first saw it I was surprised at how small it is. It's 2-3 inces shorter than my DirecTv remote, same width, and about 1 1/2 times as thick My first thought was I just spent a fair amount of money on something that couldn't possibly live up to my expectations.
I was wrong! For starters i was surprised at the weight. Definitely some quality parts in the making of this. Solidly built and it sits steady on a hard flat surface with no vibration because of the hard rubber surface on the top and bottom of the speaker. It paired up easily with both my iPhone4 and iPad2. The battery level of the JAMBOX was displayed on both devices which is nice.
Now for the sound tests. I put it through a variety of music types on my iPhone and also while using Pandora. I was really amazed that I was hearing this quality from a wireless speaker. Crystal clear, no static...even when I took my phone into different rooms in the house. It also has some surprisingly decent bass. Next I tried out a movie on my iPad2. I went with the newest Star Trek movie and once again wasn't disappointed. Sound effects were good and conversations were clear.
Finally, I can use this as a speaker phone. My iPhone is ok when I need it in a pinch but the JAMBOX will let me use it in the conference room at my office. This was the icing on the cake for me.
The JAMBOX comes with a sleeve to protect it when traveling along with two power cords and an auxiliary cable for non Bluetooth devices. I highly recommend this little guy if you are looking for a portable, rechargeable, speaker with very good sound quality. It won't replace your home speaker system but it's great for the office, bedroom, deck, or hotel room. I bet you find excuses to use it other places too!!
